10-day tours around Agadir, Morocco

Day 01 :
Agadir Essaouira

After breakfast at your hotel, you will begin your tour to visit the city of Agadir. With its stunning beach and corniche, souks, kasbah and numerous historic cafes, you can be as busy or relaxed as you wish. We then head to Essaouira, a quiet coastal fishing village where you can explore the Phoenician, Berber, Portuguese, Jewish and French past in the well-preserved architecture, narrow streets and charming medina. Stroll through the quiet squares, browse craft shops and galleries and admire the "tuya" wooden craftwork that is only found in Morocco or head to the port to see the catch of the day.

Day 02 :
Essaouira – Marrakech

You will make your way to Marrakech via the scenic Continental Road with the forest of argan trees (sometimes with goats!) that can only be found in this region of the world. Stop at the argan oil cooperatives on this relaxing walk. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 03 :
Exploration – MARRAKECH

After breakfast at the riad, you can explore Marrakech, the "red city of Morocco". Your guide will ensure that you see the main places of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadian Tombs, the El Bahia and El Badi palaces and the Coranique Ben Youssef school. Lunch will be taken in a restaurant near the square, and in the afternoon you will visit the Majorelle Garden, the Menara and the Koutoubia Tower. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to stroll around the "Jemaa El Fna" square and meet magicians, storytellers, snake charmers and food vendors. One night in a hotel or riad.

Day 04 :
Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes and Fez

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up in the city of Casablanca where you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest outside Mecca, and experience the Cornish coast. We then leave for Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where you can visit the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah Oudaya before checking into your Riad in the heart of the Medina. Accommodation at our hotel/Riad.

Day 05 :
Day 06 :
Fez – Azrou – Middelt – Rich – Imilchil

After breakfast, our journey to Middelt begins, passing through Ifrane to Azrou, which is covered by cedar forests where wild monkeys live. This way we could take beautiful photos with them and lunch will be in Zaida or Middelt. After that, we will drive through the Atlas Mountains to the Ziz Valley and enjoy the landscapes of Middelt. Then we will continue to the rich city while exploring some Berber tribes that still live there even in the harsh weather. We will arrive in Imilchil in the afternoon and then check in at the Auberge Tislit hotel, by the beautiful Lake Tislit. Dinner, accommodation and breakfast.

Day 07 :
Todgha Imilchil Gorge – Merzouga

After breakfast, we leave Imilchil towards the largest Todra Gorge, the narrowest gorge in Morocco with panoramic views of the ancient Berber mud villages overlooking the valley. We take lunch under the high red cliff of the gorge. Continue to Erfoud and Rissani, then through the open black desert to the village of Merzouga where we are welcomed with a glass of mint tea before riding our camels for about 1.5 hours. Dinner and overnight in a Berber tent.

Day 08 :
Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After taking a photo of the sunrise and having breakfast, we set off for camel trekking back to Merzouga village. On our way, you will be able to admire the beauty of the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi - their color changes with the light throughout the day. We arrive back in Merzouga late tomorrow and after a shower at the Rissani hotel - formerly Sijilmassa - we leave the home of the Alawite dynasty, the current ruling family. With most women wearing a veil and the men wearing a hood, it is a very traditional Moroccan village. We continue to Agdez, via Alnif and Tazarine, have lunch in N'koub and then reach the fascinating Draa Valley on the edge of the Atlas Mountains, where hundreds of Berber kasbahs are located. Dinner and overnight in Ait Ben Haddou.

Day 09 :
Ait Ben Haddou – Taliouine – Taroudant

You start in Ait Ben Haddou in Taroudant and descend to Tazenakht, an important center of carpet weaving. We are now in saffron country! Stop in Taliouine and visit the saffron museum or plan your visit to coincide with the saffron harvest festival in October. Continue to Taroudant. Accommodation in Taroudant.
