Departure in the morning from the riad or hotel to Essaouira (approximately 160 km, 2 hours and 30 minutes drive). On the road that leads to the Atlantic Ocean, you will find some cooperatives of Berber women who work with a specific olive harvested from argan trees. This ancient plant is under UNESCO protection because it is endangered and is found exclusively in this area of Morocco. From the nuts of this olive, an oil is extracted using a stone mortar that has an infinite series of properties: in addition to being an effective anti-free radical agent for skin care, it is also used as a food product and its taste is reminiscent of roasted almonds. After visiting one of these cooperatives, we leave for Essaouira, where we arrive around midday. There is a free visit to the medina and then a lunch break in one of the typical bars near the port where fresh grilled fish is served. In the afternoon we visit the walls and the Portuguese bastions that conquered the city in 1500. In the afternoon we return to Marrakech.
Departure in the morning from the riad towards Ouzoud (about 167 km, 2 hours and 30 minutes drive). Arrival at noon at the Ouzoud waterfalls, one of the most beautiful and surprising places in Morocco as the water falls into the river from a height of 110 m. Ouzoud means "olive" in Berber and the name of the waterfalls is due to the olive cultivation in this area. On the way to the river we pass numerous souvenir shops and at the end we can see some boats that take us on the river to the other side (optional, there is also a small bridge that can be crossed on foot). For many Moroccans looking for a bit of fresh air in summer, this place is a very quiet and relaxing destination. About 2 kilometers from the waterfalls is the charming Berber village of Tanaghmelt, easily accessible on foot. There we have the opportunity to eat in a typical and picturesque restaurant on the way to the waterfalls. In the afternoon we return to Marrakech.
Departure in the morning from the Riad towards the Ourika Valley (approx. 1 hour drive). The Ourika Valley is located east of Jebel Toubkal and its main attraction is the village of Setti Fatma with the Moussem de Agosto and the seven waterfalls. The village is inhabited by mountain Berbers and is a holiday destination for many Moroccans in summer. Souvenir shops, campsites and many picturesque grass restaurants provide a very relaxing atmosphere just a few kilometers from Marrakech. In the afternoon we return to Marrakech.
Free day in Marrakech to relax or visit the Hammam and enjoy a typical Arabic bath with skin peeling and massage. Night in Marrakech.
Departure to Casablanca and transfer to the airport. End of the route.
