It stretches out in front of the majestic Atlas Mountains, whose peaks are covered in snow for part of the year. Its history is linked to various dynasties and its tradition as a political, economic and cultural metropolis has always marked the history of the Maghreb. Marrakech is also a city of spectacles, with parties constantly taking place, as can be seen in the famous Jemaa el Fna square, which has been the most incredible popular theater in the world for centuries: snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, fortune tellers, actors, fortune tellers… There are countless places to visit in Marrakech, for example the Medersa Ben Youssef, the Menara, the Dar Si Said Museum, the Agdal Garden, the Saadian Tombs and the Badi and Bahia Palaces. Overnight stay in the same riad to find out what interesting places there are to visit in Marrakech.
In the morning we drive along a narrow road through the valley of the Oued n'Fis, home of the Almohads (Berber empire from North Africa that ruled Muslim Spain in the last decades of the 12th century), towards Taroudant. The last 15 kilometers lead up to the Tizi-n-Test mountain pass (2,100 meters). From here we enjoy incredible views of the desert landscape and Taroudant, a beautiful fortified city.
We continue over the Tizi Kerdous mountain pass (1,100 m high) where we stop to enjoy the wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Anti-Atlas. This is the start of our descent to Guelmin, a small town with a very colorful market. We continue our journey along a coastal road to Sidi Ifni. Free time to explore the historic center at your own pace. Overnight in a hotel on the coast of Mirleft. Hotel Au But du Monde or Riad Najma.
Following the road, we will reach a vast forest and then Tiznit, the famous "Silver City". We will stop for a visit to the medina. If we have time, we will take a walk through Sidi-ifni, a fishing village. After a half-hour walk down the coast towards the south, there is a wonderful wild beach that invites you to swim. We will then continue our journey to Essaouira. If we have time in the afternoon, we will visit the fortifications. Accommodation at Riad Maison du Sud
Free time: You can enjoy the beach and the medina for shopping. You can take a walk along the city walls and the fishing port or just relax… To find out what interesting places to visit in Essaouira, you can read our article “Moroccan Heritage” on our blog. In Essaouira there are many artists who exhibit their works and crafts. Overnight and breakfast the next day in the same riad.
In the morning, you will return through the plain of Marrakech (Haouz) and an incredible area full of argan trees where goats climb to eat their leaves. Pass through Chichaoua. Arrival in the red city of Marrakech and transfer to the airport. End of our services.
